AND FLEET MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Fleet Management (FM) Systems enable the following kinds of capacity: Tracking and tracing of vehicles and freight, remote diagnosis and supervision of fleets via two-way messaging, monitoring safety and alarm systems of mobile assets. Advanced AVL/FM systems feature navigation functionalities.

How Does the System Work?
A typical AVL/FM system utilizes Global Positioning Systems (GPS) receivers for determining the location of mobile units. The GPS infrastructure is developed and maintainted by the U.S. Defense Department and the Transportation Department. It is a global system with 365-day, 24-hour availability.

IMAGINS AVL/FM systems feature an integrating SiRFstar GPS receiver ideally suited to the requirements of AVL/FM systems for urban environments. 12 parallel tracking channels, 8 sec. hot start, 40 sec. warm start, 1 min. cold start, SnapLock™ 100 ms. reacquisition, SingleSat™ positioning with fewer than 3 satellites, FoliageLock™ higher sensitivity reception, Dual Multipath Rejection improved accuracy/integrity, TricklePower™ low power consumption, and Push-to-Fix™ instant wake-up all contribute to the superior technical characteristics of the SiRFstar GPS engine used in IMAGINS' AVL/FM solutions.

The location information produced by the SiRFstar GPS engine is transmitted via the GSM network to three possible kinds of monitoring stations:
1. Central Computer
2. Internet
3. Private GSM mobile phone

The whereabouts of the asset tracked can be displayed either in textual form or over a map display on a central monitoring computer or at IMAGINS' web site on the Internet. If desired, the location information can be transmitted to a private GSM phone allowing the recepient to send a command to the vehicle via an SMS message. Thus the end-user has control over the behaviour of the vehicle such as locking or unlocking of the doors, turning the alarm on or off, etc.

The locational precision achieved by IMAGINS AVL/FM systems is around 100 meters. For critical uses, in Istanbul, IMAGINS has the capability of providing a higher level of location accuracy at the 1-meter level. This service will also be available in Ankara, Izmir and Bursa.

  - By monitoring its trucks on the Central Monitoring Station, a fleet manager can locate and re-route trucks.
  - For refrigerated transport, temperatures can be monitored and alerts generated in response to specific temperature limits.

  Companies with large fleets can use this system to automatically record vehicle location 24-hours per day, for later analysis to ensure that their vehicles are used within company guidelines, and reduce cost of unauthorized use of gasoline.

• Private Cars
  Private car owners can this system to locate their cars when they are used by others, or stolen. GSM mobile telephone monitoring is preferred for private car users. There are many other examples of the uses and benefits of AVL/FM systems, including, for example signifcantly lower insurance premiums for vehicles with the system installed.
