Kurtulus Oztopcu
Dr. Kurtulus Oztopcu was born in Eskisehir, The Republic of Turkey, and
received his B.A. in Literature from the Department of Turkish Langauge
and Literature, his M.A. and Ph.D. from the Department of Near Eastern
Languages and Cultures at UCLA. Between 1986-1989 he was Assistant Professor
in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the University
of the Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey (teaching Old Turkic, Middle Turkic,
Old Anatolian Turkish (Early Ottoman), and Survey of Historical and Modern
Turkic Languages. Between 1991 and 1996 he has been Visiting Lecturer
and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California, Berkeley,
and University of California, Los Angeles, teaching Readings in Modern
Turkish, Moden Turkish Literature, Advanced Turkish, Ottoman Texts, Uzbek
Language, Azerbaijani Language, and History of Turkic Cultures and Civilizations.
Dr. Oztopcu is a free-lance translator, interpreter and editor.
